Pickled.App Upgrade: Add, remove or swap players!

Hey there Pickleballers! 🥳🏓 Do we have some exciting news for you! We’ve rolled out a major upgrade on Pickled.App that’s going to make your life a whole lot easier. Say hello to our brand-new feature — the ability for event organizers and location admins to add, remove, or swap players! 🎉

Now, we know that in an ideal pickleball universe, everyone would sign up for the events they fancy and turn up, ready to bring their A-game. But, as every event organizer knows, the reality can often be more like herding cats than a well-orchestrated ballet. 🐱💃

But, don’t fret! We’ve got your back. While we’re committed to keeping Pickled.App player-centric, we understand that sometimes the cat herders (we mean, event organizers) need a little extra help. That’s why we’re bringing you these super helpful new features. Now, event organizers can nip scheduling issues in the bud and ensure that everyone has a great time on the court.

So, let’s get the lowdown on these shiny new powers:

Add Player:

Ever had a player rock up to the court ready to play, but they forgot their phone and couldn’t sign up? Now, adding them is as easy as pie. Just hit the purple “Add Player” button at the bottom of the roster. Note that this might increase the max player size for the event, ensuring the added player doesn’t impact anyone on the waitlist.

Remove Player:

We’ve all been there. A player signs up, every intention of showing up, but then life happens and they’re a no-show. Aaaaand they forgot to remove themselves from the event which cause issues for everyone else like holding an available spot that Joe is just itching to fill and messing up our round-robin assignments! Well, kiss those problems goodbye! A simple click on the remove icon, and poof! Flakey player problem, sorted.

Swap a Player:

Got a player who showed up in place of another? Easy-peasy! Just click the swap player icon. Remember, this will swap any games associated with the event, completed or not. If you want to keep the already played games intact, use the ‘Add Player’ feature instead.

Now, while we’re super stoked about all these new privileges, we’re also aware of the potential for misuse. So, while we’re drawing up an official admin policy, here’s the drill:

• Use your powers for good, not evil! (Just kidding, but seriously, be responsible!)
• Remember, your actions will be logged and attributed. If you add or remove someone from an event, they’ll get notified.
• We reserve the right to suspend or remove admin status from any player we deem to have overstepped their admin privileges.

We think these enhancements are going to make organizing events a breeze and ensure everyone has a smashing time. Enjoy the games, and keep on pickle-ballin’! 🥳🏓💫
